Don't Mistake Me For An Angel

Don't mistake me for an angel,
My wings no longer can aid flight,
Don't mistake me for an angel,
My feathers are no longer pure,
Don't mistake me for an angel,
My spirit is being stained black night,
Don't mistake me for an angel,
My footing will never again be sure,
Don't mistake me for an angel,
Scars cover my pale hands,
Don't mistake me for an angel,
My heart no longer understands,
So don't mistake me for an angel.
Little poem I pretty much just came up with. May revisit it if I come up with something.
First line popped into my head, second line followed had to work for the rest. Please, please tell me what you think.
I don't do poetry very often......I think.

From heavens of cloud 9

Those who have fallen are not alone on this road.
These brothers and sisters have a new chance at family.
Be they of lust, greed, envy,or wrath, they all have their stories of woe
For another to listin, might be all they need.
So even on this dark path, they can see a small light in each others sin.

I like your poem.
I can't do poems either, but they are entertaining to have a thought be placed in lines for all to see.
